About Us
The Whiting provides facilities, programs, and services to promote and support the presentation of the best regional, national, and international performing artists.
The Whiting also serves as a community venue, and enables community interaction with touring performers through lectures, master classes and workshops.
The Whiting's 2,043 seat theater hosts the Flint Symphony Orchestra, Annual Holiday Pops, New York's Joffrey Midwest Summer Intensive, Flint Youth Theatre's Learning Through Theatre Series, and many other community graduations, recitals and other events.
Each year, The Whiting presents 35-50 events which include:
The Spotlight Series: World-class entertainers and shows like Riverdance, Bill Cosby, Miss Saigon, The Temptations, STOMP, The King and I, and Itzhak Perlman.
Jazz, Blues & Beyond Series: Legendary and up-and-coming artists like B.B. King, Henry Butler, Joe Bonamassa, Carolina Chocolate Drops and Etta James.
Special Events: special engagements of perfomers like Jerry Seinfeld, George Carlin and David Copperfield.
