subsidy & donation policy

 

Ticket Subsidy Policy

Organizations, groups and schools in Genesee County may request free or discounted tickets for performances at The Whiting. Requests may be made for one performance per season and priority is given to groups as follows:

Group Descriptions

  • Aging adult groups with limited disposable income
  • Low to moderate income groups being served by other non-profit service organizations
  • Students in our public schools
  • Religious organizations

Application Process

  • Requests must be received at least one week before the performance selected
  • Requests must be made via mail, fax or email
  • Provide the name, address and priority group description
  • Provide the 501(C)3 tax ID number
  • Provide the name, phone number and email address of a contact person

Be sure to include a mailing address with your submission.  Vouchers will be mailed to group representative.

Donation Policy

The Whiting, a member organization of the Flint Cultural Center Corporation, is a 501(C)3 non-profit and it is our policy to donate only to other 501(C)3 organizations.  Priority is given as follows:

  • Arts organizations
  • Education organizations
  • Medical organizations and medical research
  • Sponsors of The Whiting raising funds for non-profit organizations

Additionally

  • The Whiting can only give once per year to each beneficiary group
  • No donations will be made that benefit a specific political organization
  • No donations will be made that benefit a specific individual or family
  • Donations are limited to fundraising events only; we do not contribute door prizes
