On-site School Workshops

Sometimes it is just easier for you to get together with another teacher and have us bring the workshop to you which is why we offer On-site School Workshops. 

Our workshops involve music, drama, dance and lecture demonstrations with question and answer time.  Expose your students to the greats of Jazz, the Takin’ it to the Streets of FLY dance or the classical style of The Acting Company.  Availability is limited but a workshop is free to you, fun for us and amazing for your students! 

 

 

Midwest World Fest

Arts Midwest and the Flint Cultural Center have partnered to bring Midwest World Fest to our community.  This global arts, education and outreach program presents high-caliber, accessible internationalartists to local communities, and young people in particular, for a multifaceted, lasting experience.  This program also integrates art into a broadersocial, cultural, political and historical framework and encourages communities to explore issues and concerns of diverse cultures.  In late Fall of 2006 a musical group from Somalia will spend a week in Flint and in March of 2007, the Bamboo Orchestra joins us from Japan.  For information about school workshops or free school concerts with either of these groups, call Christi Lackey at 237-7342 or visit http://www.midwestworldfest.org.

Student Rush Tickets

Native American Dance TheatreHigh school and college students can experience live theater, dance, jazz & blues and musical performances for a little more than the cost of a movie ticket.  Most performances presented by The Whiting have Student Rush rates available. 

Student Rush ratesallow students to purchase tickets for only $12 per ticket (limit 4) on the day of the performance.  Students can visit or call The Ticket Center at (810) 237-7333 to purchase tickets and will receive the best seats available!  To receive the special rate, students just need to show their student ID when they pick up their tickets.

Teachers bringing 10 or more students to any show at Student Rush prices are also eligible to purchase a ticket for just $12.00!
