Children are Welcome!
Although we do not recommend babes in arms, we encourage and welcome you to enrich your children’s lives by introducing them to the wonderful world of the performing arts. Some performances may contain adult themes. Please carefully consider the appropriateness of the event when deciding to bring small children. Refunds will not be given to patrons who are asked to leave because of a disruptive child. Everyone, regardless of age, must have a ticket. If you have questions about age recommendations or content, please ask a Ticket Center Representative for details.
Personal Attire
We do not adhere to a dress code policy, however a general rule when deciding what to wear is to consider the event you are attending, and dress accordingly. Please consider those around you when applying perfumes or colognes, many people are allergic.
When to Arrive
If you have already purchased tickets, we recommend that you arrive about one half hour prior to the scheduled performance time so there is ample time to park, visit the concession stands and restrooms prior to the performance. Be sure to allow for extra time when purchasing tickets on the evening of the performance.
Parking & Traffic
Free parking is available for all events at The Whiting. Additional parking is available across from The Whiting at Sloan Museum and throughout the campus.
We realize that traffic both in and out of the theater can be congested following a performance; still, it is distracting to other patrons to leave while the show is in progress. Thank you for your consideration.
Late Seating Policy
Latecomers will be seated only during an appropriate pause in the program. The pause is determined by the production company, not The Whiting.
Cell Phones and Electronic Devices
As a courtesy to our guests, we ask that all paging devices, cell phones and alarm watches be switched off or set to silent mode prior to the start of the performance.
Photography
To ensure the safety of performers and the comfort of our patrons, the use of recording or photographic devices is strictly prohibited.
In Case of Emergency
Observe the lighted exit signs throughout the theatre. In the event of fire or a similar emergency, please remain calm and walk to the nearest exit. Our ushers are trained to lead you out of the building safely. A trained Emergency Medical technician (EMT) is on site during most events. Please see an usher or staff member to contact the EMT.
